JUAN C. FERNANDEZ APPOINTED TO NEW JERSEY STATE ETHICS COMMISSION BY GOVERNOR CHRIS CHRISTIE

Trenton, NJ – Governor Chris Christie has appointed O’Toole Scrivo partner, Juan C. Fernandez, to the State Ethics Commission (“Commission”).
The Commission has the power to undertake investigations and hold hearings regarding alleged violations of New Jersey’s Conflicts Law. The Commission also issues advisory opinions concerning whether a given set of facts and circumstances would, in the Commission’s opinion, constitute possible violations of the Conflicts Law or any code, rules or regulations promulgated pursuant thereto.
Juan Fernandez has 29 years of experience in labor and employment law and commercial litigation and has also served as Essex County Counsel, Assistant Union County Counsel and Union Township Municipal Prosecutor. He is a former member of the District Ethics Committee and the New Jersey Educational Facilities Authority. He maintains an active litigation practice in labor and employment matters and has represented corporate clients and plaintiffs in the courts of New Jersey, New York and abroad. Mr. Fernandez also provides commercial litigation services to corporate clients focused on restrictive covenants and employment disputes. Mr. Fernandez is a member of the New Jersey State and Federal Bars.
